Here's a glimpse of our June 15, 2007 street party!
Despite earlier forecasts predicting 100% chance of thunder showers, it was a bright & sunny day. We served free BBQ chicken suppers (thanks to Wally & Ruth Doerksen) and had cotton candy, face painting & bouncy castles for the kids. Masterworks Dance Studio and North End Community Church provided live entertainment during the event, and North End Community Church, Springs Inner City and Family Life Centre showed their support with booths of their own. The event was covered by Global Television, Christian Weekly, CHVN and Power107. Our goal was to "celebrate the great things about the North End", as well as to provide opportunities for families and children to get connected with Christian organizations. We were able to fill up all our spots for summer camp, as well as helping Family Life Centre and Springs Inner City recruit for their summer ministries as well.
Over all, it was a huge success. We had fun, we estimate around 500 people came through the event, and God was glorified through us!
